Colossians 3:23-24

KEY VERSE

1 Corinthians 10:31
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

REFLECTION

One of the easiest lies to believe is that glorifying God only happens in big spiritual moments. We tend to think of worship as singing songs on Sunday, sharing our faith, or going on a mission trip. And yes, those things matter. But the Bible paints a much bigger picture of worship; one that reaches into even the smallest, most ordinary parts of life.

In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul is answering a very practical question about food. But instead of giving the church a simple rule, he gives them a vision: “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” That’s not just about meals; it’s about perspective. Paul is saying that everything we do, even the most routine parts of our day, can become worship when our heart is set on God.

This same idea shows up in Colossians 3:23–24: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”Your body, your work, your daily rhythms, they all belong to Him. God is not only glorified in what we call “spiritual” moments; He is honored in the everyday faithfulness of His people.

So think about your day: What if your workouts were acts of stewardship instead of self-promotion? What if your rest was rooted in trust instead of laziness? These aren’t small shifts; they are ways of declaring with your life that everything belongs to God.

God doesn’t just want your Sunday morning. He wants all of it; your routines, your habits, your body, your work, even the quiet moments no one else sees. When you begin to surrender those ordinary things to Him, they become extraordinary. They become holy ground. So whatever you’re doing today, training, eating, working, or resting, do it with the mindset that it belongs to God. Because when you do, you’re not just getting through the day; you’re glorifying the One who gave it to you.

PRAYER

  • Ask God for help to recognize every ordinary thing as opportunities to worship Him.
  • Pray for a heart that desires to glorify Him more than to impress others.
  • Thank Him for the body He’s given you. Ask Him for wisdom to steward it faithfully.
